We know the importance of taking our four-legged friends on walks for exercise and socialisation, but where do you go? Luckily on the Sunshine Coast we have lots of off-leash beaches and dog-friendly parks provided by the council. Here they are:

Beerwah – Mill Park on Simpson Street
Bli Bli – Muller Park (check the signs for the designated dog-friendly area)
Brightwater – Heliconia Street park (in the fenced area)
Buddina – Foreshore Reserve on the eastern side of Point Cartwright headland south to Gulai Street (beach access 198 to 201)
Buddina – on the beach from Mawarra Avenue to Talinga Street (beach access 210 to 217)
Buderim – Elizabeth Daniels Park on Syd Lingard Drive (in the dog-friendly fenced area)
Coolum – on the beach from the northern end of the caravan park to one kilometre north of Stumers Creek
Currimundi – on the beach from Poatina Street in Wurtulla to Currimundi Creek (beach access 249 to 253)
Currimundi – on the beach from Gothic Parade to Ann Street (beach access 255 to 262)
Currimundi – Ridgehaven Park on Kalana Road (in the fenced area)
Dicky Beach – Coochin Park, on the corner of Beerburrum and Cooroy streets
Golden Beach – Woorim Park on the esplanade is a dog-friendly zone
Little Mountain – Little Mountain common (in the fenced area)
Little Mountain – Meridan Downs Park on Winchester Road
Maleny – the showgrounds is a great dog park
Marcoola – Reserve 2481, Keith Royal Drive (check the signs for the designated area)
Maroochydore – On the riverside of Bradman Avenue, from the traffic lights at the Fishermans Road and Bradman Avenue intersection, extending 500 metres towards the rivermouth
Minyama – on the western end of Jessica Park, Nicklin Way
Mountain Creek – Quota Hideaway Park on Cootamundra Drive
Mountain Creek – the park at Heliconia Street is dog friendly
Sippy Downs – Chancellor Village Park (in the fenced area)
Twin Waters – North Shore Beach between the low water mark and the base of the dunal area, extending from Maroochy River to a point 500 metres south of the flagged area, Twin Waters Surf Club (beach access 132) is a popular off-leash beach
Warana – the dog-friendly park opposite Rata Street on Nicklin Way (in the fenced area)
Wurtulla – on the beach from Maloga Street, Buddina to Wurley Drive, Wurtulla (beach access 226 to 247)
